Rob Dunbar on discovering Ancient Climates in Oceans and Ice

Rob Dunbar hunts for data on our climate. He found clues from 12,000 years ago finding clues inside ancient seabeds, corals and inside ice sheets. His work is vital in setting base lines for fixing our current climate--and in tracking the rise of deadly ocean acidification.
The Ice Shelf has melted about 35 times and has been caused by natural sunlight. Human beings have changed the melting of the Ice shelf and the melting will change 1-2 meters by the end of the century. There are Natural causes for the melting Volcanic aerisols, Ocean circulation and the Sun. Human causes for melting are Land use change, Aerosols and Trace gasses.

Rob Dunbar has gone on several missions upon Scientfic Drilling Ships. Where they drilled and bore holes in the raw sea beneathe a floating ice shelf called the Ross Ice Shelf in the Antarctica. The core samples that were takent had layers of gravel, plants and shells. The ice is melting in the Ross Ice Shelf and has melted about 35 times by natural sunlight. The Co2 in water is desolving in the ocean. The Consequenses of the ocean being more acidic makes: carbonate organisems, dissolution of shells, decreased marine biodiversity, loss of marine life and effects on all organisms. Bob Dunbar says that the most serious of all the predicted outcomes is the Ocean Acidification.

He looks deeply at ancient corals and sediments to study how the climate and the oceans have shifted over the past 50-12000 years and how the Antarctic ecosystem is changing right now.
On the Galapagos Island there is bleached coral covered with alge that has died, whitch is caused by strong Elnino events. He has done research by analizing tubes of limestone from the coral. Urvina Bay has coral that is now on land where there are growth bands that they can measure oxygen. He says coral can take us back hundreds of years to see how our climate works. In the video he measures his information on charts and diagrams to show how he has tracked his study of information collected.

I appreciate how Rob Dunbar has brought this information to our attention so that maybe we can cange what we do and to be more aware of whats happening to our climate, oceans and coral. He said that there was a nations talk that brought many countries together and this problem with the acidification in oceans and coral wasn't even brought up for discussion. It makes me disapointed to hear that. It gives me a hopeless feeling for our world to know that it doesn't seem important to some people especially the leaders of the world. In a hundred years I wont be here but we should care for what happens for our future generations.

This video is on Rob Dunbars study of the oceans and coral conserning the climate changes on earth.
